I haven't had this for years and have a sudden craving - any recipe tips out there?

I fancy doing it with a fried egg on top and a side of Sauerkraut (Tiroler Grostl style).

I nabbed a tin of corned beef the other day, I just need a recipe and to decide whether it's breakfast or dinner.

Simple "can't be bothered" recipe is boil your normal "mash" potatoes with a little salt, some onion diced into it. When done, strain, mash with butter, a little cream or milk and the corned beef.......eat :-). Add other condiments to taste if you want to go posh :-) LOL

I had this just last week for the first time in years when we had some corned beef left over from a pie my MiL made in the New Year when she was at my house & I had an evening in by myself. Looked like a "dogs dinner".....but delicious ! Served it with a selection of steamed vegetables.

I do them as lunches. Just fry off some onions, add in a tin of corned beef cut up into cubes. Cut up some potatoes into small pieces - I air fry them but however you can cook them. I also add some greens, but what else you add is up to you. Mix it all up = corned beef hash.

Whatever the chosen recipe, needs to be served with baked beans. I alternate between the mash potato and fried diced recipes, great camping meal.

Wow, you've just given me inspiration for something this week. I like a panackalty, some call it pannackerty or Pan Haggerty depending where you're from but I think it's essentially similar to hash but the potatoes are par boiled then layered on the top and baked in the oven.

Pan Haggerty, yes!! my Mum used to make that when we were kids - lovely stuff.

'Stovies' in Scotland is the same/similar.

I think it's this cold weather makes you want good old fashioned comfort food.

Adore corned beef hash.

Corned beef cubed, tin of beans, diced onion, Worcestershire sauce, cubed boiled potatoes (tinned potatoes in a pinch or when camping), salt and pepper to taste

Serve with eggs cooked however takes your fancy and a crusty roll.

Wonderful stuff!

Also fry up any left overs as "patties" and serve in a roll with egg or square sausage or black pudding (or all of the above) with strong coffee for breakfast.

Great now I am hungry hehe

I've always known it as 'cowboy pie'.

Tin of corned beef, mashed together with a tin of baked beans.
Plenty of Worcestershire Sauce and pepper.
Top with mash.
Top with cheese.
Bake until it's all golden and bubbling.

One of my favourite winter meals. Loads of red cabbage, brown sauce and some bread rolls…. Perfect.

Pretty much same as I do it - with the addition of a chopped onion into the corned beef & beans.

We used to have this regularly when I was a kid;

Buttery mash, cubed corned beef, frozen mixed veg, cubed cheese, fold together, into a baking tray more cheese on the top. Bake for 30 minutes or so, so the top is crispy round the edges. Served with beans and tomato sauce lick

I dice the corned beef, dredge it in cornflour then fry it off in a pan, also mash half my spuds and cube the other half and fry them off with onions and top with a fried egg.

Why not a Tabasco? Yes, I’m serious.

Corned beef tastes of very little (putting it mildly), I gave it to my dog. hehe

No, mushy peas, not beans.

Fry onions with some decent chorizo. Add halved, boiled baby potatoes for a minute or two. Add cubed chilled CB and stir through until warm, but not mushy. Serve with Baron Hot Sauce.
