Vcheck or Car Vertical or something else? HPI / car checks

Hey Pistonheads people,
Not been too active on the forums for a couple weeks after being super active and needing to take some time away, but still on my car hunt and may just want to do my own checks. I'm looking at dealers which say the car is HPI clear but just want to get some extra peace of mind or maybe acquire the VIN numbers so I can check it all matches the V5 and location on the vehicle, and from doing some searches on the forum Vcheck seems to pop up the most (https://www.vcheck.uk/)
However, Car Vertical is super promtoed on YouTube at the moment and also had some decent reviews or word of mouth here on the forum, but on Trustpilot, literally every review for like the last 20+ reviews on there is either a 1 or 2 star, the last positive review was apparently back in October last year, so they could probably do with more people reviewing them. Vcheck doesn't have many reviews at all but plenty of good stuff here.
I think Car Vertical may have a good product but they seem to be paying the content creators quite well from what I hear, and it may be done through a management company, a bit like these quick breakfast drinks or quick detailer sprays which you may have seen.
Anyway keeping it on point, which would you recommend? Or some people seem to sometimes use a combination of Vcheck + HPI? To be honest it's probably overkill for what I'm looking at in this moment, but it's a small price to pay compared to the vehicle, even if it was something that's just a couple thousand.

I used to nerd out a bit as a kid remembering number plates and then entering them on mycarcheck later in the day to see what the exact model was, but never used their checks

Not fully sure myself but there are people who've said that certain checks don't show damage which apparently did occur from hearing about it somewhere else but maybe that's down to something else. I believe my last car was a cat S write off but it was repaired afterwards from auction or something and is back on the road on a 66 plate, so will be using one of these checks (or possibly multiple over a period of time, just for curiosity) to see what shows up, as I missed when it went through Copart.Also some guy made a 1 star review or something because his old Porsche plate didn't work on the reg lookup, but that's probably because you need to know the current plate and it's since been moved to a personalised one etc, and even though you can see the plate changes once you have the report, you can't do anything without the current plate. Surely that guy has some documentation with the VIN though you'd like to think
Alright, just done Vcheck with the 3x bundle 
Checked my old first car / last car I had, and indeed it came up with Category S and the date matched and also there was some salvage pictures which was very interesting. The rear bumper and rear lights etc were gone so you could actually see a better idea as to the structural damage side of things, I guess. I'll probably share the photos one day but now isn't the right time.
The two other cars I was looking at came back perfect except that the dealer has them on a unit stocking finance, which people have said get in writing that they will clear it once the vehicle is sold (I'm assuming that includes even if you go to buy on finance yourself). The price estimates seem to be fairly accurate too based on the mileage figures I entered and the rest of the market, but may be quite skewed towards favouring low mileage or may be getting tripped up if the car's age is just before a facelift model came out. Also, there's no option to edit the input mileage for valuation I think unless you buy another check just FYI.
I may give CarVertical also a try, but it's pretty pricy if you just want to buy one report, so may do it a bit later on.
