As title. Since when did this start?

Looking at replacing front bearing/hub assemblies on my transit custom. Saw a pair advertised on eBay. Pics showed labels on boxes as Genuine Ford. Said on the labels produced in South Korea! Not exactly a country known for producing quality bearings!!

The bodies of the hubs had FAG stamped on them so they certainly look like the real deal..

You don't know a lot about industry, or South Korea do you?

Car parts is a global business. Shouldn’t be surprised. There’s not much German in a Mercedes for example

Yes but there’s bearings, and there’s bearings.

Oh yeah, I missed that these are for a Ford Transit. Better get NASA on the case!

It’ll have 12 months warranty whether it’s made in Korea, Germany, America or anywhere, what’s the problem?

Could also be Iljin bearings. They supply and subcontract for many different suppliers

Been going on for decades.
Worked in a motor factors in the mid 70s for a couple of years & it wasn't uncommon then.

Ooh yes! I wonder where Kia and Hyundai get their’s from?
There’s also TVs and phones, then there are Samsungs.

People used to think
‘Made in Japan’ and ‘made in Taiwan’ were a joke once, too.

So many sarcastic teenagers on here.

It seems a lot just don’t get it.

To suggest that Eastern or Asian engineering is a match for western engineering is a laugh.

Would you put Michelins on or Hwa Fongs? Exact same thing. You would expect someone like Ford to be using SKF or similar for bearings.

Oh no, we get it, we’re just citizens of the world.
