Have a few watches on chrono24 which are surplus to requirements and have had a few requests from overseas buyers - last one is from Italy - who do people use to send watches overseas with adequate insurance cover - say £2k?

I do not want to use royal mail as i have just sent a watch to uk address and although it reached buyer - it was not a satisfactory experience

ups/dhl seem to have 1k usd limit on their online quote tools

Also does VAT now apply for buyer in europe on a secondhand watch? I.E does buyer have a duty to pay to receive the watch?

TIA

I used Secursus to insure a watch sold on Chrono24 and sent to France via Royal Mail - no problems. No VAT, duty is their concern.

I’d avoid sending anything to Italy if I were you; you’ll never see it again.

Their postage and courier system is atrocious

A very fair point, though it has improved an awful lot since covid.
