OK, not a problem, they have to go faster than usual on occasions but this wasn't good.

Short downhill section of road in a 30 limit with a cash camera at the foot of the downhill bit. About 10 yards after the camera is a crossroads - the main road carries on and there are two small residential roads crossing that that point.

Most people slow to 30 for the camera then carry on at 35-40 which is the natural speed for the road.

Saw a plod car (panda) with blue lights and siren on, he looked down at his speedo whilst he approached the camera on the downhill section, slowing slightly, then only looked up again once he was just passed the camera and accelerating again.

I'm not criticising him specifically because we probably all do this - I certainly do, but being able to watch it happen made me realise how dangerous the cameras are. He was doing probably 50ish in a 30 and didn't look at the road whilst he travelled passed the camera - a good 20 yards on the approach to a junction, only looking up as he was on the junction.

The sooner we get rid of these cameras the better.
