You could try watching this for some information - there are lots of videos in his channel:

If you travel with your aeropress, you could do a lot worse than the aergrind by knock.

It's a compact hand grinder that sits inside the aeropress when packed away. Grinds fairly well too I have one and the larger feld 47 for other home duties.
I know they are not cheap, but they do regularly sell. "seconds", I couldn't see anything wrong with mine, and they occasionally come up on ebay....

I have one of these:

Not very portable but does everything I need it to.

Get the roaster to grind the beans/buy the ground version?
Freshly ground coffee is a lot nicer. For me its almost like the step up comparing ground with instant. Here is a link to the one I've got https://www.amazon.co.uk/Stainless-Steel-Manual-Co...
For the money it does a good job. Has a ceramic grinding wheel so should last a while too.

I confess I just use a spinning blade basher/grinder. It works and they are so simple that it has lasted years (no idea how old it is) I confess I mostly filter or French press my coffee, but I agree that freshly ground is a big step up from pre-ground.
