Looking to buy a camper and import to France. If I buy from Ireland there will be no taxes to pay.

Do I need an Irish address in order to buy a used one there?

You need to get the vendor to hand over the vlc (vehicle licencing cert/log book) to you, to present in France . (Copy won’t do in France or elsewhere.
However the normal procedure is for the seller to post this cert back to Shannon with the new , “normally irish” owners details.
For export,
There’s no clear instructions on this irish government website as to the correct procedure .

But from experience, The procedure for export is for you to retain vlc, the seller takes a photo copy of it ( both sides) and sends this with a covering letter to Shannon (irish Swansea) stating name and export address of export purchaser.
If the irish seller is reluctant to do this , get them to phone department of environment/transport registration section in Shannon in advance of completion of sale for clarification. Search boards.ie for a thread on this .
