Most irritating Youtubers…
Discussion
Bit of fun….
It’s an AM forum, I know I can count on some bitingly witty takes on some of thesejokers ‘influencers’.
The two I struggle with the most are Schmee and JayEmm
I’m not sure what it is with Schmee, I’m sure he’s a very likeable chap. Possibly it’s the (surely faux?) schoolboy excitement, but hearing the opening catchphrase for me is like nails down a chalkboard. I can’t hit the back button fast enough
JayEmm I didn’t used to mind so much, even though it was all very samey, him pottering round the roads near his house in whatever someone has been good enough to lend him that week while offering his quite impressive one take opinions… though for some reason I can’t quite put my finger on I just can’t watch his stuff anymore.

Years ago he was a contributor to this forum, talking about his 4.7 V8VR.
He seems to have discovered the way to get many (necessary) YouTube followers.
With the huge number of cars in his collection, it surprises me when he talks about his finance arrangements. Perhaps that is just a way to give publicity to a sponsor.
The first time I watched Shmee I thought he was entertaining. By my third video, I couldn't take his voice anymore. A few weeks ago I started to watch a new video and had to turn it off after just a minute or two. Not sure why, but I find his voice irritating, as noted above "like nails on a chalk board."
Jay Emms is still watchable, but only if I am interested in the vehicle being tested.

I really enjoy Number 27, I have a soft spot for Mat Armstrong and how rebuilds these cars. I like JayEmm , but thats about it.
Kev
Same, Matt seems a good guy, gets in over his head and swims out the other side. His Porsche and Vantage were both great builds. His Lambo looks a nightmareKev
Really like watching Harry's stuff and Tyrell... and I quite like a lot of the real world type stuff Jayemm delves into in his videos on particular cars.... I just can't gel with his delivery though
All faux sarcasm and feel like i'm being spoken to as an idiot - a bit pompous/condescending and whatever the opposite of "down to earth" is...

Schmee
jww
then whatever the supercar blondie stuff is. I don't even understand that crap.
Harry's Garage is of course absolutely top tier. Wish he made content more regularly.
Actually think jayemm is pretty alright if it's a car I have an interest in.
Ian tyrell is good, then most things from henry catchpole are pretty good.

That's what it is, yes, the pomposity. He's obviously a clever bloke but you can imagine him after a few pints down the pub winding everyone up by being an arrogant know it all.

It is fascinating that it is the same down to earth ones are repeatedly stated as favourites by PH'ers, Harry Metcalfe, Ian Tyrell, Henty Catchpole (also the only ones I can happily watch), while the more vacuous (like the JWW guy) nobody can seem to stand.
Different target markets I suppose. I wonder what will happen to some of them when their teenage followers grow up...
My issue with JayEmm is he just won't shut up. Why use ten sentences when one will do? More car, less presenter, please.
Can't beat Harry Metcalfe. Given his personal situation, it might not be surprising if he had a massive ego and was pretentious. But no, he is the exact opposite. Also, his reviews touch on practical, everyday aspects of cars that many other reviewers do not mention (they are too busy showing off their opposite lock skills).

Who's that BMW guy with the monotone drawl that can bore anyone to death from 500 yards.
When we bought an M135i he had loads of vids on it, now I haven't watched anything from him but he appears on carwow every now and again and appears to be making a living from you tube. He must have a lot of boring followers.
Matt from carwow is entertaining. Him, Chris and one other would make a good top gear team.

Jayemm - just get to the point
Shmeee - yes your dad is wealthy and yes you have a lot of cars but what are you about
Matt (Carwow), Harry M - down to earth proper car reviews. I actually prefer Harry M in Harry's Farm!
Car Wizard and Car Ninja - nice stuff and an outsiders view of European machines. Don’t go there if you own a BMW as they can be scathing
Some others like Barum Engines are informative but for the most part they irritating beyond belief.
Hang on a minute I sound like my dad when he reviewed my Sex Pistols and Clash records....
