I'm thinking about moving on my Tag Formula 1 Senna and trying to decide the best way to do that.

I've seen a lot of folks on here mention Chrono24, but I've never used it before. As a private seller does it offer any protection? For example, if the buyer is less than honest and decides to claim the watch is damaged or not as described what happens?

Also, do they provide any guidance on pricing? There are currently 4 of the same model number on there. Two at £1000 and two at £1500, so I've no idea how to price mine now!

maybe no one has used Chrono24.....

its seems the most footfall on this forum is for watches that are lower price.

Anyway, here is my experience.

I sold 2 pcs of Rolex Oysterflex strap on C24.

for me it was all smooth.

Buyer pays C24. You send it. Buyer receives it. Buyer confirms and C24 pays out to me.

I'm not too sure what C24 can do if the buyer plays silly buggers.

Regarding price, its how deperate you are to sell. I don't know much about the Tag Senna but I googled it and it a £2100 retail watch. Once its left the store the VAT is gone, so its £1750 net.

If you are really looking to sell, I think you got to be looking at 50% of this £1750, so £875 for a mint one.

What you got to realise, you can advertise for whatever price but unless the price is right, no one will buy. Keep and eye on those 4 you seen on C24 and see if they get sold. If they don't , then you'll know they are priced too high for the market.

Your watch will always find a buyer.... but at what price.

I've sold a couple of watches via C24 - both gone smoothly and securely - the commission rates are on the high side, but for me it was worth it for the peace of mind.

Probably better than the margin a dealer would want.

You sold your Explorer at the right time, well done!
