The gearshift on my S2 is getting a bit difficult, from previous threads it would appear I need to grease the linkages, but what's involved? Just the pastic shroud taken off the interior or more? Is there a guide avaiable? Also what to use as a lubricant, will general purpose grease suffice or do I have to use something else?

Aw come on guys help me out!!

Whats involved in greasing this gearbox linkage? Is it just the interior tunnel housing off or undertray and stuff, can anyone point me to a fix-it guide?
PLEASE?

try www.elise-faq.com - think there was a link there to a site that details it

you can spray some liquid oil in at front, but the real problem is the linkage at the rear on the gearbox. It probably needs adjusting/greasing properly - beware it can take hours of mucking around to get it spot on. Also worthwhile fitting a linkage kit (basically replace worn stuff) - check out the linkage kit on www.eliseparts.com

Bogie and Davey thanks guys, have checked out the kit on Elise parts and they are doing an offer on the gear-linkage kit and a "quick shifter" anybody fitted this? Is it worth doing? Will try greasing the link myself on saturday (depends on the hangover), car is due a C service in December so depending on how bad the gearshift is might get the garage to fit both bits.

My gearbox linkage is fine but my input shaft could do with a good grease!!!!
