Custom Cerbera Dash... but not in a TVR !! (beware 56k'ers)

Hi all,

I promised a couple of people off this forum last week that I would post some pics of my efforts over the last 15 months! Quick history, I have spent the last 4 years building a 4WD, 400bhp VW Corrado with a custom interior based on a TVR Cerbera dash and centre arm rest. I am picking the entire interior up from the trimmers tomorrow and will post pics of the completed interior on sat night/ sunday morning once I've fitted it. See below for pics of the interior build. It may not be to everyone’s taste but I like it something a little different! I plan to have the car complete in 2 weeks for an event called edition 38, ( <a href="www.edition38.com">www.edition38.com</a> ) incase anyone wants to see the car in the flesh. I would just like to point out, originally I wanted to keep the look of the dash as factory as possible, i.e try and make it look like a cerbera inside, unfortunately I had some major issues, one being the steering column was 3” out and therefore the entire dash didn’t sit central. Secondly the centre arm rest was far too big for the Corrado and had to cut it down in width to fit, so after that I decided to use the Cerbera dash as a starting point and just go with what ever… Thus a TVR inspired dash was created. Fantastic job. I have to say that you must be out of your mind for even attempting it, but it looks like a quality job! What colour are you trimming it in?

All you need now is a bodyshell to complement the interior!

Oh well, I told you it wouldn't be everyone’s taste.. I can assure you its not going in Max Power or any equivalent publications..! I think I have a touch more class than that?

I love TVR's, but you can't say that a corrado isn't a good looking car!?? Each to their own I suppose!

Thanks mate! It has been alot of hard work, I know I'm mad but wanted to do something a bit different and learn how to work glass fibre etc. Its all about learning new skills

Cheers Olly, and yes I am mad.. lol, but I'm not the only one doing it, a mate of mine works for Aston Martin and it doesn't take a scientist to work out what he has put into his! lol

The engine is the 1.8 20vt lump, large port head, running a Jabbasport stage 2 with a few more additions..

Shame you can't make it to the show, it should be a good laugh this year.. There's always next year..

Sorry mate I mis-understood! You are right though about the curves in a box, but thats half the fun trying to make it work! I'll post pics of it trimmed tomorrow, it looks stunning!

Top job, it looks fantastic!I think you need to de-handle it and use the TVR mirror button entry, but i guess you've already thought of that.400bhp sounds a little optimistic from a 1.8, but who am i to argue. Good luck with it.

Those seats look a damn sight more comfortable than mine. How weird to appear to be in a Chim, but really be in a Corrado. Must be odd and that handbrake does look, err..strange. Totally different set up to the standard Corrado.
