Just looking at the police car thread, it occured to me that there must be a large collection of cars somewhere that were retained as evidence from bank robberies, murders and the like. Certainly when my Neigbour was blown away his Mercedes SL was kept for ages. Ok it had a bit of blood and brain on it and a few lead pellets in the upholstery, but it would have been a good buy. What happens to these vehicles once the police have finshed with them. Are they sold to dodgey scrapyard crims for ringing or just stored? I ask merely for information. :D
Think it still applies.
The person from whom siezed has the property returned.
If any question of ownership, under Police Property Act facts put before Mags for them to decide on ownership.
Sometimes an owner may sign a disclaimer authorising Police to dispose of vehicle. In which case it may well go to a local auction or sale by tender.
