sorry if this has been asked before but I'm fairly new to PH forums.

me and the mrs are taking a week off in may to do a small road trip in France / Germany

were taking the ferry from Hull to Rotterdam and plan on heading to Paris for a few days (I've already sorted my Air Crit so be able to drive into Paris so that's no issue ) we plan on heading over to the Nürburgring towards the back end of the week ( ive been there before ) so my question is this.

does any one have any recommendations on place to call off at on the way or nice detours rather than just longs stints on the motorway ?

thank you

I've never been, but it's supposed to be amazing:

Also, there are catacombs in Paris full of dead bodies, if that is your cup of tea smile

You can't go far wrong on the French rural roads, traffic is light, good progress can be made and a boulangerie is never far away.
You need a map in order to plot little places en-route rather than just selecting 'avoid motorways' on your nav, otherwise a sat-nav will keep you on the main roads which are busy and tedious. In France either do peage, or rural roads, just my tuppence worth.

Rotterdam - Paris - the Ring doesnt really flow from a geographical point of view

If you really have to then Id drive to the Ring first then Paris afterwards

Although if youve done the Ring Id consider swapping it for Spa, much less distance, a great circuit tour and plenty of track days if you wish to drive it

Cheers - and trip write up awaited smile
