European breakdown cover for old Porsche
Discussion
I have just bought a lovely 1989 Carrera Club Sport, realising a long time ambition.
I do a lot of trips overseas and to the Ring, and am currently looking without success for an organisation that will provide European breakdown cover (preferably "all-in-one" with UK cover). So far, I am finding that the car is too old to qualify (10 or 11 years seems to be the limit).
I'd appreciate any advice on where to find this sort of cover.
Many thanks
Steve

Congrats on your purchase Stephan, i ran an '89 CS for a few years, they are great cars...If you don't mind posting part of the reg...I may well know the car.
With respect to European cover...I have a classic policy with classic line, they do european breakdown with Uk for about 35 quid, thios does compliment the car insurance policy.
You will have a great time at the ring with the CS, I went out a couple of times in mine, the suspension is a little more compliant than most and really helped plus it gets a lot of attention and respect with the colour scheme...i am sure you will have a lot of fun with it.

If you want cover to specifically include the ring, take out German ADAC cover (only costs around £30/year). check out their website www.adac.de
ADAC is the german equiv of RAC/AA.
Or if you breakdwon/have an accident, pay ring racing to recover the car to their premises and get the european RAC/AA cover to pick you up from there. Worked for me.
