2 x unmarked Transit (?) Vans on the A33 today
Discussion
My office window overlooks the A33 in Reading, and we have a stream of regular emergency vehicles throughout the van.
Bit of an odd one a few minutes ago though, 2 x what I think were white transits, blue lights all over them (not sure if they were on the roof though) and what looked like a case for an awning on the side of each.
Any ideas what they might have been anyone?

Quite possibly a Specialist Firearms Officer van. Usually plain with the blues in the grille or in the bumpers etc. they dont have a roof bar light set up, but do normally have a full length roof rack for use as a platform.
Alternately a protester removal team van, which looks pretty similar.
Haven't seen a transit for a while used for this, usually a merc sprinter in white, grey or occasionally navy.
Unlikely to be a soco van, they don’t routinely have a blue light fitted. [url]

I saw those in Farnborough yesterday, around 11.30. Thought it was odd at the time, but assumed it was a specialist police team of some sort. Plain white transits with small blue LED's at each corner, plus the awnings on the side.
Interesting, so out of the Thames Valley area. Makes me wonder if they were Police at all?LemonParty said:

They came from the direction of Farnborough airport going north towards your way, so could have been transporting something that had been flown in?LemonParty said:
