Hi, can anyone please share what the red line is on a genuine 4.5BV engine please? Cheers.

6250 seems to be the norm but could vary slightly.

There’s only one chap who can confirm this and he works out of Coventry.
I seem to remember being told the first 9 BV factory built engines had as Rev limit of 6500 but I might well have dreamed that so check with the people who built them and tuned the ECU
Joolz might be the other person who’ll know.

I will just set the tacho warning to 6k to stay on the side of caution whilst I dig out more info, thanks for the contact point.

6500 would be a safe bet I think.

If you have RoverGauge you can find out for sure by checking the value set within the EPROM in your car's ECU.

Handy table, thank you. I have a rovergauge but it is in my study drawer smile it has a big Edlebrock on it, will set the tacho safe, not much to be had over 6k anyway.
