Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has had a car suffer a major failure whilst under warrenty and pcp finance? My wife's suzuki vitara was bought from a main dealer new 2 and a bit years ago, has covered 38000 miles and has been serviced when due under a quite expensive service plan. The car around 6 months ago had the rocker gasket replaced as a leak was discovered on the service is currently under recall for an issue with a part in the braking system and has last weekend suffered a failed head gasket. We have had a nightmare with suzuki who have left us with no courtesy car and haven't actually started working on our car yet, I was wondering if anyone knows where we stand with them? It still has manufacturers 3 year warranty until 31st July this year but at this point we are seriously considering telling them to stick it and ask for a voluntary termination.

Thanks in advance

Chris

Last weekend - so four working days assuming Suzuki got it first thing on Monday?

I'd give them some time. I have owned Suzuki cars and bikes for years and am active on various forums. Failures are very, very rare unless high mileage or abused.

I'm not saying your issue is through abuse but from Suzuki's POV they have to investigate what's wrong before they suggest a remedy.

Have you tried speaking to the dealer and saying how important it is to have a replacement car while they investigate yours?

My advice would be to be as polite as possible initially and get the dealer to work with you on this. Its too early to be playing hardball but if the dealer remains unresponsive escalate it to head office.

My experience is that Suzuki will look after you if its a genuine mechanical failure.

Had an engine go "am about to go boom" with my current car, and got to smoke around in a brand new 718 for the couple of months it took to rebuild. Maybe go up to Suzuki themselves, rather than relying on the dealer to sort it. While it hasn't been long, without a courtesy car, it's been long enough. Yes, they chose to cut the courtesy fleet down to save money, but the dealer will have other cars available.

Thankyou both for the reply, yeah it's been a struggle without a car this week, we both work in the emergency services so we work awkward shifts so public transport isn't always available so been getting lifts off family and colleagues where we can. Hoping it gets sorted soon spent a fortune on the service plan and care plans they sold us so they certainly can't say the cars been abused in any way

Thanks

Chris
