Quick lease car handback Question

Contracted miles 24k over term.

Car arrived with 361 miles from delivery half way across the U.K.

They are expecting the car returned on 24,361 miles…..arnt they ?

Anyone had similar? There’s a franchise dealer 12 miles away, they chose to buy one 360 miles away and drive it here.

They're hoping it comes back with lots less miles, and expecting it to have up to 24361. You MAY need to remind them of the documented delivery mileage.

It goes back in the next 2 weeks. I’ll be above the 24k but within having drove it 24k.

I don’t have a copy of the handover paperwork.

Ah, I was thinking you are at the beginning not the end. Have a haggle, although the amount in question won't be life changing I suspect. Good luck

The dealer will have to pay the excess mileage charge to the Lease Co.

The last couple of driven delivery lease cars I had included the delivery mileage as part of the contracted mileage. That was with Peugeot and VW.

25p a mile, so not ruinous but still not something I think I’m at liberty to pay.

I never asked them to drive it across the U.K. before handing it over. Not my problem.

Exactly this - i'm currently arguing with leasys about it even though I have evidence from them that they agreed to remove the delivery mileage

I’d just tell them to take me to court for the £90 or whatever.

Be thrown out in seconds, contracted mileage is contracted mileage, not contracted mileage plus whatever was put on it getting it there.

We had a similar thing back in the day with a "missing" nav disc. I asked them to prove it was there in the first place. After getting a bit arsey with me they had to concede that we'd not signed for the disc. As I said earlier, haggling is your friend.
