Which glue/fastening method for new gear/handbrake gaiters
Discussion
As above, I've got some snazzy suede gear and handbrake gaiters for my car and I'm wondering the best way to attach them. I initially tried an off the shelf style superglue which seemed to work but came unstuck pretty quickly.
I've also tried a Stanley stapler, as they're stapled from the factory but they wouldn't go through the plastic surrounds.
Anyone any suggestions?
Cheers

If the surround already has staple holes, get rid of the old staples and then you can use a needle and thread/fishing line to sew it on, or manually place and bend staples with a pair of needle nose pliers.
It’s a little tedious but I’ve done it a few times and they’re all still in place.
You can tack the material in place with superglue first to help. Use a pair of pliers to pinch the new gaiter agains the surround whilst the glue sets.

Thanks very much for the replies. There are holes in the plastic, but they do look ever so small to get a needle through. Putting the staples through manually and then bending them with pliers is an interesting idea though.
I thought about contact adhesive, I have some left over from lining my van. You're quite right though, it's a one shot deal. Messy af too.
