My dad is struggling and needs around the clock help with a team of people coming in through the day. The team often need to buy stuff for him and it would be easier if I could provide them access to an Amazon account but restricted and requiring approval.

Is that possible? Added complexity being I’m in the US and he is in the UK.

That must be stressful hobo. Could they set up a wish list that you buy from?

You could buy an Amazon gift card to whatever amount is appropriate as and when needed. Obviously you'd need to trust them not to splurge on non relevant stuff.

Or run your own Amazon.co.uk accounts via a VPN and order what they need as and when.

I think that Amazon accept the Blue Light card - a discount card for key workers.

Not sure you need a VPN - I buy gifts for UK family on .co.uk and stuff for myself on .com.au using the same account.

Never had any issues.

I moved home to provide palliative care for my now late stepfather last year. It certainly is demanding, and surprising what you suddenly discover you need when caring for the elderly and infirm ( a good size saucepan for peeing into for example). Can the care company not set up their own Amazon business account, and then invoice you accordingly?

Thank you for the responses. I have been buying stuff on amazon.co.uk but that does not always go smoothly. The current ask is for a pair of shoes. I do not want to appear difficult but have to ask back which ones and what size. If they can just go and order themselves it would make their life easier.

It looks like Amazon business is the way to go forward. Does amazon in the UK do food as well? We currently have people going shopping for him which is not a great use of their time. If they could place an order on amazon which repeats then thats another burden off them.
