One way is to wash the hood in the normal way then when dry apply Thompson's Waterseal (yes really). Generally looks a lot better and proofs the hood. Recently done this on mine. It doesn't restore a badly faded hood to "like new" though so if you need that then there are products such as Renovo which you might like to try.

Coincidence - Thompsons Water Seal was recommended to me to recently, then a couple of other people said they'd used it too. Went out and bought some today - £6.00ish I think. Will let you know how it goes.

Where do you get Thompsons WaterSeal from? Neither B&Q nor Homebase had any in Cambridge.

I got it from Homebase - it was with the building materials in a remote corner. I'd have thought Wickes or anyone would do it, it's fairly mainstream.

Yes, they're confusing cololur restorer and waterproofer - two different things. Renovo did a blinding job on my 4.0 Griff to restore the navy colour; then waterproof it. I used Fabsil but Thompsons seems to be getting good press..

Not confusing the two, but proofing the hood does make it look better. I would try that first unless your hood is really badly faded.

Renovo is available at most SAAB Dealers spares counters, I belive they only have the Black and Blue available.

I got mine direct from Renovo, prompt service.
