Drving home yesterday got the MIL light on the dash,anyone got a laptop and lives near me.

A serial extension lead from pc world will do the job.

Serial cable ! (it'll be 9 pin)

(some people say you need some strange connector/lead, but a plan old £5.99 serial cable works with mine !)

Ed old bean, one of these is what you'll need, if you get one long enough, you can sit the laptop on top of the engine whilst you muck about!

if you're using a serial ext lead you have to remove the threaded inserts on the end that goes onto the ecu. they should just unscrew. i use that same belkin cable so it will work.
