Apparently the QOS packet Schedular in network connections on Windows XP can reserve 20% of your available bandwidth. By unchecking the relevent box in network connections you can speed your broadband up
Any techies make sense of this?

Windows defaults to this position to allow high priority network traffic a little overhead when it needs to be sent out.
Home users wont generally come up against this, as they will have a 10Mb minimum network card, and usually a <2Mb internet connection. Unless you are using data heavy CAD software from a fileserver, or have a really fast line with gigabit fibre straight into the back of the PC, dont sweat it....

Cheers Randle, It was just a tip in a computer mag. I tried it out but no appreciable difference
