Serif font is where you get like the little lines off the ends of the main lines on the font.

I think it sets off the tone of the car nicely, that Italian quirkiness and flair. It wouldnt suit a modern font.

Although I’d wonder why you’d want to turn heads and have 300bhp, that sounds like a recipe for driving like a throbber. Especially at this price point where it’s ropey as fk C/ E63 territory and all the baggage that comes with them.

Ive got to admit,im not too keen on the Serif font either there hehe - doesnt really suit a fast car.

Of all listed so far,i wouldnt say they are 'head turners' in terms of looks - maybe the Maserati in terms of seeing a rare car on the road. Im thinking in terms of Lotus Elise 'head turningness'. Maybe i shouldnt have set a limit of 300 bhp ha.

A Jag is a good bet for good looks and rapid depreciation, the original X100 XKR is better looking than the replacement X150 (albeit worse in every other regard). The lowered suspension and 20" wheels really give this one a concept car / custom vibe.

Only one id say is probably a 911.

The 928 is a 4.7L which does list at 300hp.

It also weighs twice the Lotus and Matra so they are all going to feel quick even if they aren't really when it comes to raw numbers.

Vauxhall (Holden) Monaro VXR? or perhaps a VXR8? Might just squeeze in one of those under budget. Pretty rare and turn the 'right sort' of heads....not to mention some true old fashioned RWD fun...


There must be some quite special about the £14-16k price range with min 300bhp - I've never seen so many cars with 3D embossed number plates turn up in a set of search results in my life.

Certainly the R would be a safer bet and cheaper to run than some of the above!
