Manufacturers changing their pronounciation
Discussion
It's always been Hyun-day, rhyming with Sunday, but for some reason we Brits often mispronounce brand names, assume we're right and then feel outrage when we're told we're wrong.

Porsche - They didn't put the E on the end for nothing.
Lancia - Like Focaccia. Only sometimes tastier, mostly not so much.
Braun - Why can we say Audi more or less correctly but not Braun?
Omega - It's O as in the letter before P, and then Mega as in megabyte or megaphone. Because it literally means "Big O" in Greek.

Whilst I agree that all of the pronunciations above are correct - this is just how language works. Grammar and pronunciations simplify over time and people will just understand each other regardless. It rarely makes sense to be this picky as I can guarantee for every brand or name you pronounce correctly, you will pronounce another one wrong.
Just look at how German people say Mercedes and BMW, Japanese people say Mazda, and how French people say Citröen - you cannot expect the whole country or even world to speak like this.
Also people and manufacturers accept that different parts of the world will say their names differently. How much of an issue is it that we rarely roll the R in Ford, instead going with Fawd?
That's just how things are!

If they wanted it said as Hunday, why spell it with a y as the second letter?See also:

I'd imagine Hyundai know how Hyundai should be pronounced.
I think I prefer a bit mid pronunciation over those people who dive into a questionable attempt at the appropriate accent to say Renault or Peugeot whilst auguring it's a French words so should be said with a French accent. My Mum used to do it with her "Rrrenoh" Clio. You're from Fife maw, it's a Renault and it's a Pweh - Joe whilst were at it.
