Wow. 150mph and filming on a mobile is frowned upon by the Highway Code I believe

Holding the wheel at 150 with one hand seems a poor choice.

As does uploading the video.

Fully deserves what he got.

I’m glad he posted it online for all to see as no doubt he would have done this before.

Good result.

There should a financial incentive for shopping idiots like this, perhaps a successfully prosecution results in 12 months worth of VED at the next renewal ?

What an utter chimp, kicking up the dust in the central res? He must have been very close to binning it.

Bet he needed his seat shampooing afterwards as well! hehe Idiot obviously doesn't have enough brain cells to be in charge of a vehicle, anybody with even a modicum of common sense could have seen what was likely to happen! Still, at least the roads are slightly safer for a couple of years!

I wonder what the difference would be based on the £ of the reward - Lots of different motivators for different people - I know Cops who attend a fatal collision one day and give out Speeding Tickets the same/next day, and don't need any incentive to do the latter because of what they see at the former.

Op Snap is the portal for road users to submit DashCam/HeadCam to their local Police force - plenty of people submit, no incentive, though feedback (about the outcome) encourages users to return in the future.

Plenty of examples of people posting evidence of their offending on-line, Police have to be proportionate and selective based on priorities.

Which Duffy will no longer be able to drive to walkies. Case for extenuating circumstances?

149 indicated so probably more like 140. Meh.
Done that many times but never one handed and filming.

So are people commenting and slating him because he filmed it and driving one handed and nearly binning it or because he did 149mph?
If he just did 149mph would anyone care?

Did either of you miss where he nearly stacked it, at 140ish, whilst filming with one hand?

I legally do 140+ on the motorway often and have never, even avoiding people, been into the hard shoulder margin enough to kick up a cloud of dust.

Probably not (edit: that being said, they probably would - driving standards are poor enough to be concerned about normal people simply travelling at the national speed limit tbh!) , buts it's the throw away social media element to it that makes it far more dangerous.

I'm still trying to figure out how they calculated his speed from the video? It's quite shaky and I don't see any obvious markers you could use to calculate distance travelled?

Yeah, it's just silly worrying about that kind of stuff. Let's wait until he's actually killed somebody before making a big deal about it.

See a lot of children wandering down the centre of the country's motorways do you?

Couldn't be the same one... Could it? Same name, right age, and exclamations of "look, a knob" were heard in both situations.

If it is him, then it proves he can use the bus so won't need to keep his licence for extenuating circumstances.

Anyway, important bits: what car was it? I know it's a Mercedes C class, but what engine?

Framerate of footage, spacing between the guard rails will be standardised. Could probably tell how fast he is going from even a 320p 5 second clip running at 10fps.
