Discount possible on Black Bay Chrono Panda?
Discussion
I asked my wife to pop in to the local Tudor dealer yesterday to ask what the availability was currently like on a BB Chrono Panda dial, as I've been quite keen on them for a while. Initially she was told it was a two year wait, which she rang to let me know, and if I wanted on the list it would be a 10% deposit.
After she came off the phone the salesman said there's a chance I MIGHT get one within six months if I put a deposit down there and then, so I told her to get the guy to email me as I was busy at work. Via email when I questioned whether it was more likely to be six months or two years, he then came back and said I'd be next in line for one from the shop and it might only be 1-3 months lead time.
I want the watch, but this drop from being told two years to just a month says to me that demand certainly isn't what it was, and I'm thinking I'd maybe be better to hold off a little bit and see if I can then push for a discount once they're actually available in store. My question is, have any of you guys managed to negotiate anything off a Tudor? I'm thinking in the current economic climate it must be achievable?

The BB Chrono in White is the most sort after model in their line up (that is not a 2022 release) Even with the current financial climate, it would not be hard to place the white dial with buyers. After she came off the phone the salesman said there's a chance I MIGHT get one within six months if I put a deposit down there and then, so I told her to get the guy to email me as I was busy at work. 2 years wait however, is a joke. I would be expecting less than 3 months. Many have seen them available in various countries around the world just not the UK!
I got my panda from the Tudor boutique in Westfield in June last year. I waited just over year between registering an interest and actually picking it up. I didn’t really chase them up about availability so it may have come sooner if I had. I picked it up three days before the retail price increased so the timing turned out quite well. I haven’t seen any more in shops since I collected mine so they are obviously still quite sort after. I would assume that unless you are a very good customer of the retailer you choose a discount won’t be forthcoming. What may be coming at some point is another raise in RRP so I personally would buy as soon as I could.
My white dial took a year to arrive from registering interest, picked it up last April and might be getting out of it to help a house move.
I think watches are coming through now though a bit more, I put my name down for a BB Pro when I picked the panda up and have been offered 3 in the last 6 months. I have now taken my name off the list as I'm after an orange Omega PO when I next buy something.
