Why do you HATE them?

I don't have em...too scared of hating them.

I am not talking about babies keeping you at night BTW - more actual problems with teens/adults.

I don’t. I love them with all my heart, my life would be meaningless without them and they make me immensely proud.

This. I've only the one, and couldn't wish for a better son.

Bit of a stupid OP if you ask me. I don't think anyone hates their children.

Hate is a pretty strong word, I have 2 girls and compared to some of their ‘friends’ they are very well behaved.

Still at least once a week each one manages to make me incredibly cross or disappointed, however when I look back at the some of the things I did I quickly calm down.

The positives more than outweigh the negatives.

However they cost a fortune

Stop clogging up the thread!

Well there are lots of kids that hate their parents so I'd be interested in the flipside.

The vast majority of parents always love their kids.

They may not like them very much at times, but that's not really related!

What did you do to make your parents hate you?

My oldest isn't very bright at all, but she's beautiful and thin and immensely well liked by her teachers, peers and sisters. She's so kind hearted and it rubs off on everyone around her, especially her sisters. Next level shy though.

My second is smart, determined and confident. Total opposite. But fun loving and kind.

Third is protective, headstrong and first to cause total carnage.

4th is a bit young yet, but we all love her!

I can't imagine I will ever hate them!

I think if you had HAD kids you would realise that your question is a fallacy.

To actually HATE somebody they would have to do something pretty terrible and irredeemable. Most people (including kids) don't tend to do anything terrible/irredeemable, ergo very few parents "hate" their kids.

Are you jealous of people who have kids?

I don't. I can't imagine many ever do. There are murderers in prison whose mums still love them.

I don't hate the actual children, but I do I hate all the chores, eg cooking, cleaning. Some parents seem to enjoy this bit or least not mind it. But I hate the chores so much, it sometimes feels like I hate the children themselves!

I have 2 kids, grown up (sort of) at 22 and 26. I remember what my mum used to say… You always love your kids, but sometimes you don’t like them much’

Mine was a complete and utter teenage nightmare, proper tt, bright but always class clown, liked a few drugs, trouble with police here and there.
Drove me nuts and stress levels beyond belief.
Never gave up on him, loved him but challenged me emotionally.
He's turned things around, nice gorlfriend, decent job, good friends, I'm really proud of him.
The greatest thing about him is he's the happiest person I've ever know. I love that, way more important than anything else.

I've not wanted kids for many years - I don't have the patience. My post isn't some deeper anxiety related to that - I just thought its an interesting discussion. Lets see if we hook someone.

You may not always like them, but you'll love them anyway.
