I recently had a puncture and took my car to the nearest garage, They couldn’t repair the tyre so offered to replace with a “mid-range” tyre, and mentioned nexen which I accepted. Got home only to see that they have stuck this Saferich thing on, I don’t normally choose cheap tyres, can I reasonably expect it to be safe or should I bin it off?
Car is only a yaris but I don’t want to end up in a ditch if it’s more likely to skid slip or blowout.

I wouldn't call either a mid-range tyre personally & wouldn't fit them to a wheel barrow, but ultimately it is entirely up to you, as it is your car.

never heard of them before, but they sound crap.

The Chinese come up with some really bizarre names for tyres.

But if they have fitted something you did not agree to or expect, definitely go back

Reviews say they are alright and it’s on Yaris. I’d drive it and wait for it to wear out.

I have seen nexen tyres on buses trucks etc, maybe not what you would choose for a performance car but should still be safe and useable for a hatch back.

The word rich in a brand definitely has negative connotations for example “hoodrich” clothing from sports direct.

Pretty crap, It won't kill you on a shopping yaris , but certainly not midrange and certainly not what you paid for.

BF Goodrich goes against that comment.

iPhone?

Personally I'd have no problem putting Nexen on most stuff; I thought they were a similar level to Hankook for example. Decent midrange.

"Saferich" rolleyes

On this subject - I'm forever hearing of tyre places doing this, fitting some ditchfinder "yeah but they're made by Michelin" and hoping you don't notice. Happened to my dad who ended up with a set of Savas and Mrs DS who was sent back to get what was asked for.
