Another rogue event to add to the list of odd behaviours: yesterday, the satnav went silent. It all worked (highlighted route on map, etc) and was talking to me both with the radio on and with it muted; and then for no obvious reason, she gave me the silent treatment. Going into the satnav settings menu showed it wasn't set to 'mute', and muting/unmuting had no effect. A stop/restart didn't work either. A longer period parked up saw it resume normal service. This comes a month or so after a similarly short-lived gremlin which froze the radio every time I selected DAB-AST; this also reset itself, but it's another niggle that doesn't shout 'rock solid reliability'. I know some will say 'well don't use it' but I work on the theory that if it's there, it ought to work...reliably.
Has anyone else here experienced this?

It looks like the problem may be caused by my mobile phone; I've just bought a USB charging lead and was prompted to install mySpin. The satnav was silent this morning when my phone was plugged in (as it was yesterday) and got its voice back after a stop/start once the phone was disconnected. I don't use my phone for anything other than calls in the car, so I'll delete mySpin and see if that solves it.

Same thing happened to me intermittently. Not associated with myspin though. Seems to have fixed itself now. As you say doesn't inspire great confidence - not the only odd software malfunction I've had - but they have all (so far) fixed themselves, sometimes required a restart.
