UHP tyres on a small SUV type car?

Looking at the small SUV's

Things like Mokka's, Souls, C4 Cactus and 500x's

Needing the extra capacity.

But still want to have fun, would sticking something like the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 be a stupid idea?

Absolutely not. Nice steering is nice.

UHP tyres are not at all extreme nowadays. Before you go for MPS4, do some research as apparently the sidewalls are a tad soft, leaving the steering a bit gummy. Have a look at Goodyear Assymetric 6.

I would want something with a stiffer sidewall

What sort of climate do you live in ? what sort of environment does it get driven in ? Do they make them in your size ?

so it is 50/50 dry and wet

temperatures between -1 and 25. Averaging between 10 and 15.

Not sure on the size yet, so let's say 205/55R16

The MPS4 on my 911 are ace, I haven't noticed "gummy" steering. The GY Assy 5 on my Mercedes don't seem any better. Nothing are great tyres.

Probably a reasonable enough choice then. Although not sure they'd do them in that size
