Top Post 1960s Sportscar for Wedge at Rougham

Just so you know, digga951 has today won the prize for the top post 1960's sportscar at the British SportsCar Day at Rougham. Thoroughly deserved and I'd like to say well done. The restoration job he has done to the car since crashing it April has proved it's worth, when you consider he was up against such cars as a restored Austin Healey 3000, etc. (and of course all the other TVR's in attendance)

Yes, well done, and good to see his efforts rewarded.
The car looks superb.

As it happens I was passing Raby Castle up here in the the frozen north, saw a sign pointing to a 'Rover Rally' (classic cars). Ok, we'll have a look, methinks.

I mentioned to my son that we could have come in the TVR, as it has a Rover engine.

My son replies in his usual 11 year old larconic fashion. " Daaad, you're driving a Rover".

Oops - so I am - never thought of my ROVER 400 diesel as being a Rover.

Some nice REAL ones there though.

I think they're for holding your tools... or perhaps pieces of scaffolding ?

Maybe if you're travelling light in the jungle, you can hang yourself from a tree branch, like a self-contained hammock ?

Thank you everyone for your kind comments! I must admit, it was good to see a Wedge win at a gathering of just about every kind of car ever built.

It almost didn't seem right being chosen above some of the classic and prestigeous cars there. I mean, making the shortlist of about 20 cars ranging from old Healys, MG's, Fords and the like (some of which looked AMAZING and must have cost a FORTUNE), and then having the judges choose the plastic car from Blackpool as the winner was a total shock. Still, at least perhaps it opened the eyes of some of the show's attendies and gave the Wedges another 5 minutes of fame!

As for the trouser comments, they aren't to hold tools with, or for scafolding, or even as a makeshift hammock should I find myself in the outback! They are in fact bondage trousers ;-) They should have loads of little straps linking the metal rings too, but thats another story... Oh, and if you think the piercings on my trousers look strange, you should see my real ones :-P On that note....

Anyway, thanks again everyone and perhaps I may see some of you at the Knebworth car show this coming weekend? Theres a post on the main Pistonheads page under general TVR gassing if your coming along.

Well done Dan. I had my fingers crossed for you when they were giving the results out and was so pleased and proud of you when you won it. You truly deserved it mate! I will post my pictures up when I have got the film developed.
