Rust inside a fuel tank

Hi,
Is there any easy (ish) DIY (chemical, mechanical?) way to remove rust from inside a fuel tank?

Although I haven't used it myself Bilt Hamber make great products so I'd be surprised if this isn't up there with the best options.

Ive used a fair few, my choice now is a product called Vaporust.

It doesnt attack delicate finishes either so perfect around the bike, can be re-used as well.

I did my YSR tank with it a year or so back but havent any before of after pics but it came up as new, every few days you just need to lay the tank at a different angle so it can attack all the surface area.

a couple attatched of an cycle bell I dunked in it when I restored an old Raleigh.

Pop a borescope down into it, just to get a gauge on how bad it is, if its really bad, may need some
metal work/welding as well…

I had one of my Fuel tanks done a few years ago. There's a process called "Pickling" where the tank is submerged in a tank of hydrochloric acid for a while. I think other chemicals can be used too. Jackson Services Group, Laurencekirk did this for me. Very helpful group... think they charged me £20 or £40 and I've never had an issue with it since. Whereas, previously the car would stop running after a 5 mile journey due to the amount of dirt in the tank! Hope this helps, Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions, Vapo Rust Seems to suit my application as I don’t want to damage the paint work. The tank is in good overall condition apart from surface rust inside. I’m not sure why this bike has (only in the last couple of years) been affected by this as my other bike Is fine, they have both been sat in the same garage, next to each other for years, both were last ran up to temp 2 years ago, both had/ have the same fuel in but one has suffered from corrosion and yet the other bikes tank is spotless inside.

I have used it on a 1953 motorbike tank.
I recommend.
