Not sure what this was but it was damn good:

[pic]http://autograph.uk.com/Pix/r052.jpg[/pic]

[pic]http://autograph.uk.com/Pix/r053.jpg[/pic]

He then had to cut some tapes with his wingtip. This is the practice run...

[pic]http://autograph.uk.com/Pix/r054.jpg[/pic]

Then he flipped up one wing and duly cut the tapes...!

[pic]http://autograph.uk.com/Pix/r056.jpg[/pic]

And in case you're wondering if Simpo gets any duff shots, yes he does. This one is called 'bollox':

[pic]http://autograph.uk.com/Pix/bollox.jpg[/pic]

Whoops, forgot to take any shots of the PH cars - as we were in a semicircle it was impossible to get a ncie shot of all, so here's half of them:

[pic]http://autograph.uk.com/Pix/r058.jpg[/pic]

And a moody one of you like that sort of thing:

PHers Tuxman and Hornie are selected to represent European Sportscars Post 1960:

Just playing; can't decide which I prefer:

[pic]http://autograph.uk.com/Pix/r0511.jpg[/pic]

[pic]http://autograph.uk.com/Pix/r0512.jpg[/pic]

Back to planes - a beautiful Catalina!

[pic]http://autograph.uk.com/Pix/r0513.jpg[/pic]

[pic]http://autograph.uk.com/Pix/r0514.jpg[/pic]

[pic]http://autograph.uk.com/Pix/r0515.jpg[/pic]

Best place to be is on the far side, a long way from the cars but well worth the effort:

Nice piccys. Shame I missed Rougham.

I will post some piccys from yesterday's Ferrari Owners Club sprint at Woodbridge soon.

I prefer the B&W in car shot BTW...

Nope, I'm only good at warbirds. I confess to being rather pleased with the ribbon-cutting shot. I wanted the ribbons sharp, not the plane, so chose a shutter speed, aimed at pole-holders and watched the right-hand side of the viewfinder like a hawk. Single shot, no fps required

Thanks Lee. I was interested to know how you got your exposures for the aerial shots: spot or +EV? You never stop learning in this game!

Put it on program, then was over exposing by about 1 stop max.

I was taking on about 1/320 - 1/400. Anything more and it begins to freeze the props.

This one was taken on the following.

Yep, it's the +1 that does it. Airshows are bastards. I tried spot but the images were looking washed out even though the histogram was OK. Eventually settled on c/w metering and +1/3 for most, then tweak levels in PS to suit.
I lost a lot of Mustang shots as slightly out of focus (damn thing was goimg so fast!) or with shake, but I didn't want to freeze the props. Went as low as 1/200, which is asking for trouble at 300mm; most of the good ones are 1/250 - 1/320.
Rougham is a great show for photos as (a) you can get so close (b) the light is generally on the right side.

Most of my Mustang shots were blurred aswell!!

It is a good show for top side shots.

I went to Eastbourne Airshow a couple of weeks ago.

That is quite good for top shots there aswell.

Taken from Near Beachy Head.

You'd better start saving for a nice Canon 1d mkII that'll keep up with it then.

Yes, I'm heading towards 'sports' here aren't I!

So what you're saying is: £10K of Canon gear and it becomes 'point and shoot' again?

Great photos. Hmm, yes, a pity the light wasn't right for the caravan-barn storming shot !

Supraman got the best ones of the Utterly Butterly girlies. For my part, I was just lining up on the Catalina when this attractive lycra clad female got in the way...

(that's my story and I'm sticking to it)

Keep an eye out for the Red Arrows arrival tomorrow.

They should be coming in in formation with a Gnat and a Hunter.

Not sure if Simpo will be able to answer your questions today as he was off playing a soldier as an extra in a film! I do hope he doesn`t get shot!
