I'm having a problem (more like a niggle really) with Firefox at the moment - I can't always use the middle mouse button to open a new tab when I click on a link.

For example, on most message boards (not this one, but all the VBulletin ones) I can open a new tab by clicking the middle button on threads with no new posts in them, but not on threads without new posts in them, ie. they're in bold type.

Also, after a Google dearch I can open a new tab using the middle button on the non-bold links, but not the bold ones.

Anyone heard of this before?

Have you installed any extensions that offer additional tab functionality? I have installed one in the past that caused longggggg waits before the new tab opened so there's no reason it couldn't affect something like this.

I had a couple of tab extensions, but I've just removed them and still no joy

I actually had to remove the extensions and then edit the profiles folder to clean up some of the files they left behind.

Can you try a clean install of Firefox without losing your profile data?

Personally I prefer the mouse genstures extension for opening tabs from links; you can do multiple tabs from multiple links with a single gesture!
