I'm completing a student finance application for my step daughter and I'm not entirely sure on the benefit in kind section.
For starters my company haven't supplied me with a P11D for the year in question (21/22) although I have requested this.
Looking at the previous year's P11D I can only see the list price of the car and the yearly cash equivalent.
I assume the figure needed would be the actual BIK figure for the car? l have done a google search and can only see current figures for this year, plus to muddy the waters, I changed car in March of 2022.
Any ideas on where I should be looking for the correct figure?

You need to include your BIK from the car but normally I always have had a copy by now. have you checked your online account?

If you have a log in you might be able to see the figures on your tax account on the HMRC site.

You should have had a tax calculation from HMRC a few months ago (assuming you don't do self-assessment - you'd have needed the P11D before now).

If you're anywhere near the threshold (household income c£58k) where she would not get anything over the minimum maintenance loan you can decide not to disclose your financial details. Then she'll be entitled to £3597pa as it now stands.

I knew I would be so it was easier for me not to mess about wasting time putting figures into the system for them to tell me something I already knew.

Anyone know if pension income (from DB occupational pension if that matters) counts as household income for student finance assessments?

Seems like a simple enough question but I can't easily find the answer.

If it's income that subject to tax as listed on your HMRC Gateway A/C then I would say it is included as part of the income assessment.

It’s all income as far as the assessments are concerned so I would say yes.
