Hi all

I have recently purchased a 2013 Vantage S that is in desperate need of new front discs. I have managed to source to original front brembo 380mm 2 piece discs for approximately £875 each. I have found genuine brembo co cast 1 piece 380mm discs for £500 each. What are your views on installing the 1 piece discs opposed to the 2 piece floating discs?

Thanks for your advice

Unless you track day your car, it likely doesn’t matter in reality, but given that you’ve identified the difference, why not install the 2-piece or floating assembly. This was the true ‘S’ spec disc. The one piece ‘co-cast’ disc was a later, cost reduced version of the 380mm ‘S’ disc and was fitted initially to the non-S cars (but also, later the more sporting variants of the 4.7) when the 380mm disc and 6-pot calliper were carried into the non S cars from 2012 onwards

In the below BR vid, Mike explains it all fully.

Thanks for your reply. I’ll take a look at mikes video. I just thought I’d ask the question as it’s £750 cost difference

I don’t believe brembo sell the rotors and fixing kit separately from the bells but I maybe wrong.

i replaced my front "S" spec rotors 2 years ago from https://www.rbracingrotors.com/about-us, they are using Brembo discs on custom bells. They were pretty much the same price as co-cast OE parts and I fit Porterfield pads, which are great, near zero dust.

Thanks for that. I will contact them, if you don’t mind me asking what did you pay for them?

I emailed RB Racing rotors and Jamie replied today which I wasn’t expecting. Going to place an order with them shortly.

Thanks again

Great, glad to hear. I cant find the invoice now, but seem to remember all in by the time I bought pads, fitting kit etc was about £1500 ish for the front axle, which is less than 1/2 what a dealer want for OE parts. When my rear discs need changing I will go back to RB Racing and get a matching rear pair.
