Hi fellow travellers, It's the wife's birthday soon, 20/3 I leave things to the last minute and im looking to take her away for 4nights. Where in the world would you go???? I have a budget of around £2000 plus nearly 1M avios and 6 companion vouchers. Need some inspiration please.

Go to what means a lot to you as a couple. Where did you meet? First date? First weekend away.

If you haven't been...Rome is an amazing city to explore. I went with my wife a few years back for 3 days and we both loved it.

I’ve been to most places but I’d probably say Budapest, Barcelona or Copenhagen would be towards the top of my list of interesting places.

Marrakesh is the no 1 place to avoid.

Ive got a trip the month after (booked). Although we are taking our toddler.

Originally looked at three nights in Berlin, Dublin, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Rome.

Scandi's were exceptionally cheap on flights, almost half price but we've been to Stockholm and not much to do with our son there.

Rome didn't feel suitable yet with baby.

Settled for a trip to Nice in an Airbnb and a driving hop about the riviera and extended out to 4 nights. Pushing the budget though.

Last year we did Paris but again budget will struggle.

Most of Europe has been done over the years, I'd looked at Egypt in April half term but comedy prices... New York was on my list. Is 4 night to short though??

4 days is good. I've done it a couple of times for a long weekend. Last time flew over Thursday evening.... all day Friday & Saturday... fly back Sunday morning.

Reykjavik? Will be quite fresh but 3 days should be fun.

Vienna, Budapest, Prague, Lisbon.

Not Barcelona or Rome (crime).

I’d agree, short flight, nice hotels and amazing scenery. Throw in a pampering session at Sky Lagoon and a decent meal job done.

I've recently done Amsterdam and Copenhagen and would recommend both.

If you are thinking of the Amalfi Coast area, here's an excellent hotel in Ravello. Get there by using Naples Airport, BA, Avios, companion voucher etc. and hotel arranged transfer.

I can get her out of work Thursday afternoon so could do a night flight. Too cold is out of the question as she's has issues with getting her chest cold. (cancer). Thank you for the ideas so far.

It looks like there are some reasonable flights to Belgrade if you don't mind using Wizz Air, I haven't been (yet) but a mate goes there for work and raves about it.

April would hopefully be very pleasant weather wise

Good shout, but been twice to Dubai. Were off to West Coast Usa in August, maybe NYC could be ok. £700 and 160000avios+ a voucher for business class isn't too bad.
