Hi guys, posting on behalf of a friend.

Looking at a nov 04 575, the question is.

is the fiorano handling pack essential?

what are the pro's/cons & does it hammer things too much come resale time.

Much appreciated.

Craig.

By all accounts, it is a VERY desirable option. I was talking to an owner at Oulton Park not so long ago and he stated that nearly everyone he went to view had it, or had had it retro-fitted. He had owned a couple before and said he'd looked for it on those too.

It doesn't shoot the ride to pieces apparently but does the handling some good. It also reduces the chance of grounding the nose. Got to be worth it for that.

Does anyone know how much an FHP retro fit would be. And is nose grounding a major problem driving around town?

This is an ESSENTIAL upgrade for the 575. Without it, the car very seriously lacks composure for any sort of real driving.
It will not compromise day-today useability.
If your 575 doesn't have it look for a car which does as retro-fitting it is VERY expensive.
The FHP on the 550M was very different - more like the HGTC pack on the 575M - awesome.

All 575's post '03 had FHP installed as standard.

Craig,

Lawrence's 575M has/had FHP fitted and being a "driver" he said he wouldn't have considered a car without it. The standard suspension was set up for American tastes, which of course is not a good thing. I recall the original 575 roadtests and it was quite clear to the journalists that there was much too much lurch under acceleration and braking and the ride quality over the 550 had deteriorated quite considerably. Only with the FHP installed did the 575 then become the step up from the 550.
