My wife took our Kia Sportage GT-Line 2016 to auto glass as a chip they repaired last year had started to crack again, which resulted in a new screen being fitted. All ok except the front washers are no longer working. We can hear the washer motor going but no fluid comes out at all. There is plenty of fluid and the rear washer is working fine.

Going to have a proper look tomorrow when it’s light and not chucking it down with rain, but any thoughts on what the issue might be would be very much appreciated.

Assuming the jets are on the bonnet, check the supply line hasn’t been dislodged, most unlikely both are blocked, but did they work before you took it in?

If the washers are on the scuttle they would have unplugged the hose to remove it for screen fitment so probably forgot to plug it back in.

If the washers are on the bonnet they have probably just trapped or kinked the hose while putting the scuttle back on.

Follow the pipe back from the jets and you'll soon see the issue but it's probably just going to need connecting back up. Either that or just call them to come back and sort it for you.

Thanks. They are on the scuttle so likely just not reconnected.

Will check in the light tomorrow.

They've probably disconnected the pipe around the scuttle area and forgot to reconnect it. Happened to me a few years back but thankfully I checked if they worked before leaving their workshop.

As above, likely disconnected/trapped, check if you have water running out under the car.

You can all sleep easy tonight now... they simply hadn't reconnected the rubber hose from the bottle to the scuttle.

Good to know, I didn't even know what a scuttle was on a car until I looked it up. Although I was familiar with a coal scuttle.

Every day is a school day.
