Dutton chassis plate missing (or I cant find it!)
Discussion
I'm trying to put a dutton kit back on the road after it has been used as a track car for the last few years, just discovered it has a 2.8 instead of the 2.3 that I thought it had!! And now realise that I dont have a chassis plate, this now gives me a few questions:
1. where should it be?
2. do i need one for the MOT?
3. if it is missing where can I get a new one?
Thanks for info

Alex.
The first questions have to be, Is it currently registered? Do you have a V5? And if so is it registered as a Dutton. If the answer to all these questions is YES then you don't have a problem. Just make up a plate with the chassis no from your V5 and attach it somewhere visable under the bonnet
If however the answer to one or more is NO then you may need to go the SVA and re-register route!!! Not so easy on an older kit

If I remember correctly Dutton used to put the chassis number on the chassis as well as on the plate .
What is the vehicle , also you could try the Dutton Owners Club , they have a lot of details due to the high number of ringers . www.duttonownersclub.co.uk

The V5 states Dutton and has a chassis number listed which is only 4 or 5 digits so I'm happy that it has been registered correctly. Although I'll admit it had me worried as I didn't pay that much attention to the log book when I got the car rather the condition of chassis.
I'll have a look on the dutton site and probably just get a "dog tag" engraved with chassis number to put on the body.
Thanks
