Try searching for the item number or description via ebay.co.uk?

My results are always full of overseas listings anytime I search.

My account works on ebay dot com, so I don't see why yours doesn't work on the French site.

However try searching for the item on ebay dot com (after testing if your login works there) as I find a lot of stuff not listed on the UK site is often on the dot com site.

I have messaged many sellers who didn’t list for my country, quite a few responded and were happy to sell to me, try contacting them

Fun fact, eBay in France is not as popular here

They use this more

This is based on something a French fella told me, might be fake news

If you open ebay.fr you can search and view as if you are a local, and it will show you items that would not be visible to you in the uk if sellers have specified no international postage. If a seller in france has specified no international postage, as you have discovered, the item is not usually visible on .co.uk.

There are ways around this, but it can get complicated. The easiest way is to message the seller and hope they will make an exception (many will) and fingers crossed they will do so, but if not, there is another way, albeit more convoluted.
If you have a french address available to you (say, a french friend/family member/office/shipping address forwarder) you can login to the 'account' section of your ebay.co.uk account, and go to your list of delivery addresses.

You can then add that french address, and set it as your 'primary' shipping address..

This then tricks ebay.co.uk into thinking you are local to france, and you can then search, view, and buy using your .co.uk account. This works for any international ebay site - I do it regularly using .com and other international ones using my high feedback rated .co.uk account.

Don't forget to switch the address back after buying!

Also worth bearing in mind that post-Brexit there will be extra costs involved in getting something shipped from France to the UK, and some sellers are unwilling to sell to the UK, as it involves extra administration for them.

If it's something new the price should be ex VAT, and UK VAT will be payable via the courier/transporter before you receive the delivery. The transporter will also charge a fee for this service, varying from £15-25 on top of the transport cost.
