1971 Chevy c10
Discussion
Owned this old girl for 18months now
I can’t take credit for any of it really, was bought as is. Those of you around essex into your yanks may know the name Jon Golding… he’s the guy responsible for this absolute beaut
I still don’t like green but I’ll let the pictures talk, lemme know what you think

Typical truck combo really,
350 Chevy
700r4 trans
12 bolt rear end
Noisy
Wobbly
Dangerous
Addicting

Fast forward a few months I noticed she was getting reeeaaally bouncy on the front end over dips in the road. Quite un-nerving tbh. These shocks cured that and whilst I was in there I did the front wheel bearings
These were built back in the time where it was actually nice to work on a car. Everything’s easy to get to, no BS

Wanted to find out more about the engine so I set about hunting for part numbers to find out exactly what I’m dealing with,
87-93 Chevy tbi block
193 ‘swirl pot’ heads
Presumably cam to match
It’s harsh to call it slow, it’s more than quick enough for something with no seat belts.. but you always want more
May have a go at porting/dressing the heads this summer

I do love a C10. Good buy.
Green? Yeah… um. Still, it looks great anyway doesn’t it?!

I’d never have a car sprayed green but I wouldn’t have this in any other colour, in the sun it looks immense

I could have worded that better. I completely agree and am the same - I’d never pick green but it looks awesome here.
Nah I understood what you mean lol
Previous owner sent it away to be resprayed in the original colour but it came back a shade lighter,
Then proceeded to have the black roof, black bottom and the pinstripping done to break it up abit
He gave me a touch-up sample of the current colour so I’m strongly debating getting the pinstriping copied on the front and getting a cowl hood fitted

The pinstripping was done by the late nefarious who I must say did a beautiful job,
Would be a shame to get rid of it so I’m thinking I could get it copied into a vinyl sticker, change the hood, slap some green on it and stick it back on

^^^^ that kinda thing maybe
