Hotel availability

Any sites that simply show when a hotel property is available, rather than a human putting in the date of every single damn weekend between now and August bank holiday in the hope of finding a room? This drives me bonkers every year!

I imagine there isn't much call for it - don't most people decide when they fancy going on holiday and search for accommodation for those dates?

At the risk of suggesting the obvious, if you are fixed on finding availability of a specific hotel and will choose to holiday to their availability- just call them direct?

Yes i suppose I could, but it would be so much simpler to look at an area, say Ullswater, and just view all the hotel vacancies for, say, August. Maybe on a map...enter a date and all the available hotels pop up.

Booking.com does exactly that.
