Is giving birth more tiring than driving from Eastbourne to Scotland, at night in the rain? Would any women care to put an equivalent 'motorway miles' distance on how draining the experience was for them? :)

I think it's a little bit more demanding and is likely to take even longer.

Pah, rubbish Lois.

I watched my wife give birth recently. It was a doddle. I guarantee that I found it harder to drive home after I'd taken Pethodine with Gas and Air.

It took me 20 minutes to get out of the bloody car too.

We had to call Paramedics after a mate dislocated his shoulder on a climbing wall (as his belay, I thought he was larking about and wouldn't let him down ) - they gave him Entonox or whatever to relax the muscles so they could pop his arm back in. He reckoned it was good stuff.

What an earth are you on about now, Rob? I think you're clearly suffering from sleep deprivation!

(I'd say that most women remember the pain of giving birth rather than the tiredness so unless someone skewered your eyeballs before you embarked on your journey, you can't really compare the two.)

Put those skewers down, thank you. Ok, so...

We were talking about the gerbils last night, and how exhausted the lady of the nest would have been when (years ago) not 30 minutes after giving birth to a litter of supercute fingernail sized pups, they were shagging again!! Gerbil sex and rodent labour probaby dont stack up against motorway miles, but someone had to ask

Ah yes! "Joining in." How did Robin Williams put it?

Noooo boy. I don't think so. You're just along for the ride. Unless you're passing a bowling ball or someone's opening an umbrella up your ass - you're just along for the ride...

Come on, admit it. I wasnt far off

Us men can now relate the experience to driving to scotland and back in the rain, after skewering our eyes I wont quote you on that though, if you dont quote me again on the rodent labour comments

If you have an epidural I think it must be a breeze. Without one I would imagine it would hurt a bit.

I had a hip replaced on Thursday under an epidural and didn’t feel a thing.

Good luck with the hip Mark, speedy recovery, & remember to put your best hip forwards when encountering new challenges in life
