Having had this on my last 911 (996 C4S), I thought that it was a must have.

However, having test driven a 997 S, the exhaust note, with the standard exhaust, sounded pretty good.

Anyone got a PSE fitted to their 997 and was it worth the extra cash?

Yes, and I think it's a must have option. Unless they actually make it quieter until it's switched, to increase the differential, I wouldn't consider a 997 without.

Mmmm. The problem is that I want the car now rather than waiting for a new one. There are very, very few in the dealer network with this option.

How much would it be to retrofit?

I'm not sure, I think they're about £1700. Lots of 996 C4S bargains out there if you can't wait.
