Just moved house will speeding fines etc be redirected?
Discussion
Hi,
I have just moved house and paid for redirection through Royal Mail for 6 months. I read online some things do not get redirected.
Do speeding tickets/parking fines etc get redirected ok?
I am about to change my v5C now but wanted to check if anybody has an answer to this?
Many thanks

I have no idea why anyone would say that.I have just moved house and paid for redirection through Royal Mail for 6 months. I read online some things do not get redirected.
You are paying for Royal Mail to deliver stuff to a different address than that on the envelope, why would they look to see if it is from a specific source to decide whether to do what you pay for or not?
Although, I will add that it isn't fool proof.
I have redirected previously & they have missed the odd letter, not anything specific, just a couple of completely random things that were perhaps not addressed 100% correctly.

Just online it says certain places where on the envelope it states ‘ do not redirect’ and I don’t know if speeding tickets etc have this on them
Never seen that on any envelope, the only thing I could imagine would be if it was addressed to the 'householder' not specifically for a person, but still never seen itmartinbiz said:

I had 9 months of free "service" from royal mail on my redirect because they kept... not redirecting stuff. Luckily I was on good terms with my ex-landlady and her new tenant was good enough to keep the mail for me that they kept failing to redirect.
Utterly crap service imo. Cannot rely on it.

I've seen that on various things, including the actual royal mail correspondence about redirects. Royal mail won't redirect mail that has "do not redirect" on it.

Worked extremely well for us. Great service. It will only re-direct with a given surname (and applies to anyone in the household with the same surname - I guess a separate redirect is required for, say, a partner with a different surname.Beware that redirection doesn't work quite a lot of the time. Royal Mail in my experience ignore DO NOT REDIRECT.
When I have had redirection, its only local authority statuary notices (council tax etc) that I have seen with that on and as I said RM forwarded them on.
Speeding fines is cash collection they don't care how you get the fine, it will add around a week on.

Treat any legal info given by surveyor as you would by Kestral When I have had redirection, its only local authority statuary notices (council tax etc) that I have seen with that on and as I said RM forwarded them on.

I said in MY EXPERIENCE! I never said its legal advice, I just know in my area I have always got (DNRD) redirected.
Your a sad piece of work, do you live to pick on people on here! Get a life, if you don't have any to valuable to add or debate don't be a keyboard warrior.
You could always bypass the Royal Mail's redirect service and use the DVLA's portal to update everything car related to your new address.

Don't forget to inform your insurance company too.

Thanks I was also wondering about does it matter the name on the redirection. For example I realised on some Mail I had a shortened version of my first name. But on the redirection I put just my full name not a shortened version. It’s a very obvious shortened version of my first name and all the rest is the same I.e ‘ miss…. Same middle and last name’ just a shortened first? Samuel Smith
Sam Smith
Mr S. Smith
S. Smith
Mr Smith
Will all be OK
