Converting car to battery storage

I wish i was smarter because i'm sure i'd be rich by now.

Battery storage is expensive, 2nd hand EV batteries are not. Why don't more people just buy the EV battery packs and convert them to powerwalls etc?

£18k for 40kwh powerwall

£5k for a breaking kia eniro 64kwh pack...(ebay)

what am i missing, other than battery deg etc with 2nd hand vs new
