Seeing as the good vibes of the PH massive seem to be doing wonder's for Dave's recovers I thought I'd try and nab some too.

I'm still a little vague on details but one of mine and zoe22's friends was pregnant with twins. Unfortunately at just 24ish weeks, she gave birth to 2 beautiful girls in the early hours of Monday morning.
Obviously they were very tiny, I think little Rebecca was just 1lb and Natalie was a few oz more. Heartbreakingly, tiny Rebecca grew her angel wings and passed away last night.:cry::cry:

We now need all your thoughts to help Natalie keep fighting.

thats terrible to hear that. 24 weeks is very early, especially for twins.
i guess you just have to hope that natalie is both a fighter and lucky.

My thoughts are with you all.
If it's any consolation, my stepdaughter (who I've known since birth) was three months early. She is now a very healthy, very intelligent, very tall, and very beautiful young lady.

A neighbour of mine gave birth to a baby girl at 24 weeks. She's now a beautiful, lively young lady of 10 years.

Try to remain positive. I've no doubt that you'll be of great support to your friend.

The thing is judging how much support to give. You dont want to be overpowering so think about leaving it to her close friends and family but then still want her to know you care.

At the moment is she's in Salford not Preston so that probably isn't easy but I suppose it stops her getting bombarded with visitors.

Apparently I was a bit early too (1st time for everything) & my twin didn't make it.

But from just 1lb-something, 38 years later I've come on a bit... hence the name!

So it can be done - hope the little 'un's a fighter. Best wishes to 'em.

My older brother (now 58) was only 1.5 lbs when he was born.So there's lots of hope for kids born these days. Pass on my best wishes Lois.

Well here's hoping she's a fighter! If she takes after her mummy she's definately be a strong willed little woman.

I seem to think (TV show many moons ago) that when twins are born prematurely the weaker one often dies, because the stronger one was taking more of the nutrients in the womb. This also means that Natalie is far stronger and has a much better chance of successfully recovering with no ill effects, chances made better by the fantastic teams in the premature baby units.
