If there's anybody out their using a Nissan 200sx engine in their kit, can you confirm for me that you can use the stock ECU, and it doesn't need a dry sump?

Cheers

I believe that the Dutton Phaeton in the UK Street Racer series (go to www.uk-srs.co.uk and look for "Benno" uses a wet supmed, stock ECU 1.8 litre Nissan Turbo lump. Will ask him at the 3rd Septemebr round at Santa Pod.

There's an article about someone fitting one to an MGB in this months (not the one thats about to come out, or just has) Practical Performance Magazine. The main problem i believe was getting the ECU to ignore the fact that it wasn't in a nissan anymore. Might be easier to just megasquirt it, thereby avoiding all the trouble.

When you say Nissan 200sx engine, can you confirm which one you mean.

EG CA18DET from S13 model, or SR20DET from S14/a etc.

There are some early 90's Westfields about that use the S12 (Sylvia) engine, the 8v 1.8 turbo, CA18ET.

I'd love to find a kit that used one fo the first two mentioned engines, particularly the SR20DET as it can happily run 320bhp on stock internals and gearbox.

There is a Westfield type kit in Australia that can house the SR20..

We have been thinking of doing it for a while.

I'm sure I saw an MK at the weekend with a 200sx turbo engine in.

There is a Stylus RT running an s14 engine. Saw it in a kitcar mag last year.
